but why Turkey is participating in military exercises and training with a country like Pakistan which is supporting islamic terrorist activities all over the world, facilitating, supporting and harboring terrorists training camps and individuals. it will be bad for Turkey, as one day these terrorists might strike Turkey too. Pakistan has already infiltrated a lot of terrorists and created a lot of problems for Iran, India, Central Asia and Afghanistan. Turks need to keep an eye on them. Turks are quite good friends with Israel and might do something together by intelligence sharing to stop this menace from inflicting further destruction rather then training with them.

Another interesting fact about Fernandes is that the man who wants to nuke Pakistan in the name of India's "war on terrorism" was himself intimately involved with a known terrorist organization, the LTTE or Tamil Liberation Tigers, who seek to create a separate Tamil state in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon. The Tigers assassinated Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, in 1991, and were into suicide bombing in a big way well before Hamas and Al Qaeda got into the game. Their terrorist tactics long ago labeled them a terrorist outfit in the eyes of the US government.
In 1999, the BJP government lost a vote of confidence because, as it turned out, Fernandes was not just sympathetic to the pro-Indian Tamils, but was an activist in their "liberation" movement: he had led fundraising efforts, helped procure arms, and used his authority as defense minister to make it easier for the Tigers to smuggle arms – even going so far as to dismiss an Indian navy commander who had intercepted one too many sea-borne Tigers. The man who once hosted a conference of the LTTE in his own home is now saying that Pakistan must be nuked in order to defeat terrorism – is it me, or does anybody else see something wrong with this picture?

usual rhetoric. Pakistanis can never do anything else other then what you are doing. its the deeds not words which are required from Pakistans side which everybody knows can never materialize.
And whatever you are talking about Turkey is what is taught to you. Ever happened to meet a Turkish and ask about India and Pakistan. You will be amazed at his warmth of feelings for India and for you its nothing. Try to meet one. You will learn a lesson.

BEIJING (China): Turkey has joined Pakistan, China and six other countries in the region to make joint efforts for the development of space technology.
Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in China Oktay Ozuye signed the Convention of the Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) on behalf of his government. Thus Turkey has become the ninth State to sign the APSCO Convention.
Informed sources said on Wednesday that the organization is aimed at promoting multilateral cooperation in the field of space technology.
Other six countries that have already inked the Convention are Iran, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh, Mongolia and Peru. Five countries Argentina, Brazil, Philippine, Russian Federation and Ukraine joined the APSCO with observer’s status.
Sources say that this is a big breakthrough in strengthening regional cooperation for peaceful use of outer space for the benefit of all mankind.
Pakistan and China played a pioneering role in establishing the organization, first of its kind to expand and intensify cooperation in space activities in the Asia-Pacific region

yes that is history now. talk about ground realities at the moment, not the past. it has gone.
Forty-nine years ago on this day, Pakistan gained its independence which crowned a long struggle for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Asian subcontinent. Over the half century which passed since then, the country has distinguished itself as a respected member of the world community with its traditions, scientific achievements and successes in the fight for economic development. Befitting the special ties between the two countries, Turkish Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan has timed his visit to Islamabad with the Independence Day celebrations.
In keeping with its traditions, the Turkish Daily News devotes a special page to Pakistan and congratulates is brotherly people on the happy occasion.
Relations between Pakistani and Turkey are the best example of fraternal relations between any two countries in the world and are an important factor for peace and stability in the region. The relationship between the two countries and their people is based on centuries of a shared history, culture, civilization, faith and ties of blood. It is rooted is genuine love and affection between the people of Pakistan and the people of Turkey and continues to grow stronger with the passage of time.
In Pakistan, the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Ataturk, is regarded as a national hero. Kemal Ataturk's triumph in forging a strong and progressive Turkey was seen by the Muslims of the subcontinent as an embodiment of their national aspirations and served as an inspiration during their struggle for independence, which culminated in the emergence of Pakistan as a proud and independent nation in 1947.
There is a remarkable coalescence of views between Turkey and Pakistan on all major issues of regional and global significance and the two countries have always extended full support to each other on all issues. Pakistan fully supports the cause of the Turkish Cypriot people and Turkey has always backed the cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The two countries have also cooperated closely over the issue of Bosnia-Herzegovina and have adopted joint positions at the international fora. The prime ministers of the two countries took a joint trip to Sarajevo in 1993 to express solidarity with the Bosnian Muslims. Both countries have also sent peace-keeping forces to Bosnia.
The two countries have worked closely with each other in the context of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) as well. Pakistan actively participated in the second ECO summit in Istanbul in July 1993. Similarly the Turkish delegation to the third ECO summit held in Islamabad in 1995, was led by President Demirel and extended full support to the strengthening of the important regional organization which includes all Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan.High level exchange of visits
The frequency of high level visits between Turkey and Pakistan has been one of the key factors in maintaining close ties between the two countries. Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto paid a three-day visit to Turkey in December 1993. President of Pakistan Sardar Farooq Khan Leghari also visited Turkey in September 1994. President of Turkey Suleyman Demirel paid a three-day official visit to Pakistan in 1995 and received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the people of Pakistan. A number of agreements for increased cooperation between the two countries were signed during these visits.Defence cooperation
The commanders of the Armed Forces of the two countries exchange regular visits. There are regular programs of exchange of officers and training. The two countries have also purchased some defence related equipment from each other.Economic and trade cooperation
In the field of economy and trade relations between the two countries have been somewhat limited. However over the last few years, both countries have made conscious and sustained efforts to improve their economic relations. The Turco-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission which meets at the ministerial level to strengthen economic relations, held its 10th session in Ankara in September 1995 and adopted a comprehensive protocol to promote economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.
Similarly, the 4th session of Turco-Pakistan Business Council was held in September 1995. There was also an exchange trade delegations between the two countries during 1995. As a result, bilateral trade between the two countries reached a level of more than $20 million in 1995.
Cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries is on the increase. Some major contracts have been awarded to the Turkish companies such as STFA. Other Turkish companies are also planning to enter the large Pakistani market.Cultural and educational cooperation
Cultural relations between Turkey and Pakistan are governed by a Cultural Cooperation Agreement. Specific cultural exchange programs are prepared under the agreement. The last protocol was signed in November 1992, for the years 1993-96. There have been a number of cultural exchange between the two countries which include visits of cultural troupes, participation in photographic, arts & crafts exhibitions and children's festivals. The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara has also organized a number of cultural activities and Single Country Exhibitions to highlight the similarities and the diversity between the two cultures.
Radio and Television organizations of the two countries are working to establish closer relations.
Turkey and Pakistan are cooperating in the field of education. This includes cooperation between the universities of the two countries; exchange of professors and scholars, holding of seminars, exhibitions and symposia and award of scholarships to the students of the two countries. The government of Pakistan has established Chairs of Urdu and Pakistan Studies at the Ankara and Istanbul Universities. Selcuk University is also operating a Department of Urdu with the help of a Pakistani teacher.
The determination of the two countries and their peoples to forge even closer links remains undiminished and the brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkey are bound to prosper in all spheres in the years ahead.
