Salam friend from Bangladesh

Salam guys..

Well its pretty surprising on how I ended up here. Few hours back I found out that farsi was the official language of Bengal(part of Indian subcontinent that currently constitutes Bangladesh) few hundred years back and thus our language- Bengali has over 2,000 farsi words!!

While I was searching on this "new find" of mine over google, I somehow ended up in here :)

I am currently residing in Chicago and had few good Irani friends at college, hope to learn more about the Persian history and culture.

Also, its a fact that although Indian Bengali Muslims and Bangladeshis are sunni muslims, you all have a historical fast and Public holiday for Ashura as well as having over 2,000 farsi words in your alphabet.:D
