if you take a closer look on the picture you can se the diesel snorkel .So i think it just gone cruise below the surface using the snorkel to get air to the engine

ok to settle this once and for all is that there is no submarine out there that shoots torpedoes from the back because there is no point. Instead the hatch used from the back of the submarine are to lay minefields and almost every sub has cruise missiles which solves the problem from only shooting one way and controlling the missile itself to its target, the sub is iranian made and shoots out Adjar torpedoe.

lool this isn't some kind of super hero era we live in, theres a point of not having torpedoes of the back because of guided missiles such as cruise missiles. Theres no advantages in shooting a torpedo on the back of the sub especially when you want to be facing your target at all times and even stalking them which suits submarines very well. In todays conventional warfare all I need is an intel on where oil tankers are or enemy warships and I can stay as much as even 300km away from you and still can get a clear target on you as much as deploying torpedoes on the back of the sub which obviously doesn't make it better.

Taregh is Kilo class 877 and ghadir is home made Iranian sub whiches is family of midget submarine.

1. On the picture u see the front of the sub, not the back!
2. For the question of torpedos thats not important. Becaus u can launch torpedoes from the back, of course. This was ever possible.
3. The "missiles" it can launch are indeed SAM's and are launched manually when the submarine is surfaced. (like on many other subs with sam-capabilities )

Torpedoes are offensive weappons. So Ghadir should have "offensive capabilities". It is definetly a nice toy to restrict oil-shipment in the gulf, but
I think it does not pose substantial danger to any hostile navy craft.

Do you see the open hatch? it is used to observe when the sub marine is above water, i dont think he observes backwards but rather forward, as you see the hatch is opened that way that the observor looks forwards where its opposite to the direction of the supposed "torpedos".

the mechanism of the hatch is no argument. It has to open to one of the four directions and may hamper the view (in fact it does not).
