What would you do if you were the absolute ruler of your country's, or a political/economical/military alliance your country is part of military?

If I was the Supreme Commander of all EU Armed Forces I would...

-group them all together into one force (especially including Nuclear). This way a lot of money could be saved on R&D and bureucratic stuff. The standard language would be American English, but individual nations would retain "National Guard"-like units, in which their native tongue is spoken.

-Slowly reduce number of active troop to a little over 1 million.

-force European defense industries to cooperate more and pool money and knowledge to develop more sofisticated weapons with less money. This way not too many companies would go out of business even if the entire Union only had one or two standard MBT, two or three standard assault rifles etc.

-launch a CMD (Continental Missile Defense) project.

-Develop strategic bombers but keep their numbers low.

-Develop ICBMs that can reach anywhere in the world, but not build too many of them.

-Everything to be developed would be stealth: Stealth recon vehicles, stealth planes, stealth frigates... stealth aircraft carriers (okay I got carried away).

-Everything that is symbolic of an Imperialist power must be kept in low numbers: Strategic Bombers, Aircraft Carriers.

-High altitude hypersonic bombers are unnecessary, as are hypersonic suborbital troop-carriers (Believe it or not, I recently read an article of a future US Marines space shuttle!).

-All sorts of weapons systems need to be gradually transferred deep underground or within mountains to avoid destruction by bunker-buster nukes.

-Leave NATO and force all U.S. Forces to leave the EU, but offer separate defense agreements with Canada, Iceland, Norway, Bulgaria and Romania (or any non-EU NATO country I left out)

-Dare anyone to attack us :D

I forgot to mention that I'd invest in UCAV and "UGCV" (Unmanned Ground Combat Vehicle) aswell. Still, with the current technology, I don't see how Sentry Drones can fully replace infantry, tanks etc.

60% of israelis are willing to give the palestinians east jerusalem, ofcourse if it will just become another front of the palestinian terror then the number of supporting israelis will shrink dramaticlly.
I think we should have a border like we have between israel to its neighbours jordan, syria, lebanon, egypt etc. with alot of border passages along it as the palestinians are depend on us and need us.

Cool. I think Iran should also train its soldiers in guerilla tactics and custom-design hi-tech guerilla equipment for the unfortunate worst-case scenario that the country is invaded.

I've become so obsessed with this thread, it's unhealthy :eek:

I've only seen one of the "Escape from..." movies (can't remember which one) and it was way better than stuff Chuck Norris has been in (Walker Texas Ranger?).

I've only ever seen a few bits of episodes of Renegade

It's not the guy from Renegade although they do have a resemblance. It's "Snake Plissken" from:

Escape from New York
Escape from L.A. (personal favorite)
Escape from Cleveland

He is basically an outlawed gunman and certified bad man in the future U.S. that is ran by a Christian Fundamentalist Totalitarian Regime (god the irony). Anyhow his character runs around major U.S. cities that have been turned into huge prisons and pretty much kicks everyone's a**. If you haven't seen the movies, then I suggest you download or rent them. They are classics for me.

edit: lol yeah chuck norris will probably never win an oscar for his performances, but his characters are horrid enough that it's actually funny.

I've seen one of the first 2 Escape from... movies. It was one where they had futuristic choppers whose tail looked like that of a RAH-66 Comanche, while the cockpit looked just weird. Do you know which movie it was?
