Very interesting whirlybird! You can definately see where they borrowed from both the HIND and the Cobra. I wonder why they chose to omit the nose gun though...

@TankerJones
Sir, if you have any info regarding this project, we would be most grateful if you shared. :)

Nothing more than what is availible on the internet :)
It is very interesting to me that they would pick that shape though. It seems odd to focus so much (as they obviously did) on making the helo skinny (thus reducing it's visible and hittable profile), but not on reducing it's side profile at all. note where the body fails to curve upwards at the start of the tail boom? What does everyone think that is? Fuel storage perhaps?
Also perplexing, the lack of nose gun. I can see they chose to mount optics in the nose, but certainly there would have been room for a weapons package as well. I shall investigate this further...

no problemo guys. i am interested in all of your responses. i have a question maybe you can answer tankerjones.
on the forum about defence, sublevel army, sublevel tanks, there is a picture and information about the Chieftain.
i did not know iran had cheiftain tanks. i thought cheiftain was UK tank?
tankerjones

good catch :)
you are right, the chieftain is a UK vehicle, but has been exported to several countries that i know of. in iran it is known as the Shir (correct me if im wrong anyone, this is off the top of my head), Pakistan, where it is called the Khalid and even Iraq if memory serves. i know we saw a lot of burned out chieftain hulls all along the Iraqi-Iran border when we were patrolling over there. whether they were popped by US tanks or from the war I don't know.
everybody exports their arms these days :)

@TankerJones
Yes, sir. It is referred to as 'Shir,' meaning Lion.
Although, our upgraded Chieftains are called 'Mobarez,' apparently.
tankerjones

Interesting... Lion would be appropriate, the Chieftain I is a formidable tank, especially for it's era. Certainly was better than the US M-60 (in my opinion).
What was the upgrades done to the Mobarez? Additionally, what does Mobarez mean?

@TankerJones
Sir, 'Mobarez' means 'combatant' or 'champion.'
As for its specs, I have no idea. Sorry.
