Production Notes:
The Scorpion series of light tank has seen many major variants produced both for local use and for export. The Scorpion chassis can be fitted to utilize a variety of weapon systems and interior setups, increasing it's lifespan in the inventories of major armies around the world.
The original Scorpion showcased the smaller caliber 76mm main gun, which saw later variants install a more powerful Belgium Cockerill MK III 90mm main gun. Other weapon platforms include the anti-tank weapons system, 30mm cannon RARDEN two-man powered turret and the Fox turret.
Other uses for the Scorpion chassis have included observation vehicles, engineering vehicles, commander's vehicles ('command post') and battlefield ambulance vehicles. The ambulance variant features a higher roof ceiling for transporting both the sitting and resting wounded.
The Scorpion series is fully amphibious, making this little weapon system the complete package regardless of battlefield/peacekeeping role. It is worth noting, however, that the United Kingdom's Army no longer fields the 76mm-armed version of the Scorpion in it's inventories.
