Algeria and the United Arab Emirates here Tuesday issued a joint statement expressing their support for Iran's peaceful nuclear program.
The statement was issued at the end of the UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's official visit to Algeria.
The statement stressed countries' right to access nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and called for settling disputes over Iran's nuclear case through diplomatic channels.
Algeria and the UAE further called for establishment of a Middle East region free from weapons of mass destruction based on international rules and regulations.
They also believed that the Zionist regime should sign the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and open doors of its nuclear arsenals to inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
