Bombers kill 27 Iraqi soccer fans

Two car bombs have killed at least 27 and injured 122 Iraqis in Baghdad as they celebrated their national team's victory in the Asia Cup soccer.
The victims were among the thousands who took to the streets of the capital after the country's national soccer team beat South Korea to reach the tournament's final.
A massive car bomb detonated in the middle of a crowd in the formerly upscale western neighborhood of Mansour, killing at least eleven men, while another 62 people including women and children, were also wounded in the blast, according to an official at Baghdad's Yarmukh hospital.
"I was in the car with my friends, people all around us were celebrating and then there was a huge explosion and a lot of fire," said an eyewitness, who asked not to be named.
Elsewhere in the city, traffic snarled as cars with national flags flying from their windows, moved slowly along with hundreds of fans.
In a separate incident, another car bomb went off in Zayuna, a neighborhood near the city centre, killing at least sixteen people and wounding 60 others, security and hospital officials said.
State television broadcast warnings of the Iraqi military, urging residents not to engage in the tradition of celebratory gunfire, but the warnings appeared to have been ignored.
Preliminary police reports said one person was killed and 17 wounded by the happy gunfire.
