I would love to know why they didnt hire a real Pakistani for this role, but an Indian instead.

theres nothing wrong in it they often hire indians for pakistani roles and vice versa because essentially (although some people may not like to admit it) we all look the same.:wub2:

Lol, where do you get that? There is not even a universal Indian appearance since North Indians, South Indians, and East Indians look very different from each other. Pakistanis on average have different features than Indians. Try to notice. I can tell Pakistanis and Indians apart 19/20 times on average.

Yes try to match Pakistani with a North Indian (UP-CP-Punjabi). We are Muslim Indians and fortunately we have our own country named Pakistan.

lol well yeah for the most part i think they look the same only pashtuns look different to me.
why are people getting so annoyed over this ? they did it to show muslims as human too it's nice they chose him to be from pakistan shows desis are going more into the mainstream also he's not a terrorist but a loveable character they purposely have a stereotypical character so they can provide some comedy and then proceed to break them down as time goes on. btw one of the writers is pakistani and they also had a muslim advisor on the show :)
search for the full first episode on veoh.com it's not that bad.:smile1:

they are broadcasting to an american audience, they have to start with how americans currently view Pakistan and then soften it with comedy.

Americans are not the way Pakistanis view them, and vice versa.
