Iranian professor says his medal belongs to whole Iranians Beijing, Sept 29, IRNA

Renowned Iranian neurosurgeon, Professor Majid Samee, said here Saturday that the top honorary medal awarded to him by the Chinese government for his splendid and exemplary specialization belongs to all Iranians.
Professor Samee said in an Iftar reception in Iran's Embassy in Beijing, "I appreciate all who are endeavoring for prosperity and prestige of Iran."
He said he deems his presence in Iranian Embassy in Beijing as presence in Iranian soil.
"All of us are Iranian and wherever and in whatever post we are should try to elevate status of our dear country."
Addressing Iranian Ambassador, Javad Mansouri, Embassy staff, Iranian officials and physicians studying medicine in Bejing, Samee said wherever they are, all Iranians are cultural messengers of Iran.
He said all Iranians residing in China should contribute to promotion of relations between Tehran and Beijing.
He noted that he felt all Iranians are happy with the medal awarded to him by China.
"I am very happy for Chinese government's offering special foreign specialists' honorary medal to me. That's the first time an Iranian receives such a medal and definitely, the medal belongs to all the Iranian nation."
Iran's ambassador to China Javad Mansouri then took the podium and hailed services of Dr. Samee to Iran and the world.
"The Iranian physician has thus far trained hundreds of students and physicians in neurosurgery."
Underlining promotion of Tehran-Beijing ties, Mansoori said 150 Iranian students are now studying in China.
He urged exchange of students and professors and joint research projects on Iranian and Chinese culture, language and civilizations.
He then presented a collection of poems by Iranian renowned poet Hafez to Professor Samee.
Professor Samee, an Iranian physician residing in Germany, was born in Rasht, Gilan Province, in 1937 and got his professor degree in neurosurgery at the age of 33
