UNESCO ambassadors from five continents of the world visiting Iran have praised the country's tourism attractions and cultural heritage.
After they met with the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iran's Parliament Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, the group of 30 UNESCO ambassadors headed for Iran's Isfahan and Fars provinces.
The UNESCO ambassadors, coming from a variety of countries, including Hungary, Lithuania, Malaysia, South Africa, the Dominican Republic, Belarus, Syria, Columbia and Honduras started their visit from the famous world-heritage site, Persepolis, in Fars province.
The trip continued with visits to the Aali Qapu Palace, the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, the Imam Mosque, the Night Jahan Square and the Vank Church in the city of Isfahan.
Filled with admiration for Isfahan's monuments, the delegates said the historically-significant features of Isfahan make the entire city qualified for registration on the UNESCO's World Heritage List.
Naqsh-e Jahan Square, which is encircled by several historic and cultural monuments, was registered in the aforesaid list in 1979.
