I got rid of my telly several years ago, after finally waking up to fact that there's just a vast wasteland of mindless garbage to choose from(at least here in the States). Premium cable service is outrageously expensive and offers very, very little in the way of quality, interesting programs, IMHO. And basic cable service offers absolutely nothing of value.
So, I "killed" my TV and haven't looked back once.

In 1998 I was conscripted to Finnish Army, served til 1999 and during that time I didnt have much opportunities to watch tv, almost no chances during the services and when I was off duty I didnt want to use the scarce time to watch that stuff.. When I was off I noticed that I didnt really need a tv and when I moved onto my own in 1999 I didnt buy a tv.. and ever since I havent had one. I watch some series (Rome being the last one) on my computer and enjoy movies but I do not watch nor own tv..

The last stuff I really followed from tv were the first two seasons of X Files which I enjoyed a lot.

(one reason why I didnt got hooked on tv when I was young was that many of my friends were from protestant christian circles which didnt watch tv for any other than educational purposes and I was always more interested in books than in tv).

Now I have found out that I have a lot of spare time because I do not have tv... I read a lot.. and write a lot, esp. here in IDF.

Youre on of very few Germans I know of who have watched Malcolm in the Middle :D Good show that was. I hope they make a sequel where Malcolm IS actually the President of the USA as his parents prohesized in the series finale.

It's getting really bad now...too complicated as well.Prison Break is quite good except for the massive plot hole that the Company could've just asked Wistler for the coordinates without having to break him out (under threat of killing his girlfriend if he doesn't comply). I can't get myself to stop watching Lost :err2:.
