Two Pahlavi inscriptions dating back to the Sassanid and Arsacid eras have been discovered in the central Iranian city of Khomein.
"The inscriptions were found in Khomein's Timreh region," said inscriptions expert Mohammad Naserifard.
According to Naserifard, one of the inscriptions, which is in Pahlavi, has images of wild goats, symbolizing angels in ancient Persia.
"The other inscription contains 27 images, 23 of which are of wild goats," the researcher explained.
He added that some of the inscriptions are difficult to read and decipher as they have faded away by time.
Khomein is a city in central Iran, located in Markazi province. It is located to the south of the province in a fertile plain. Subterranean canals and its famous fire-temple are several of its pre-Islamic relics.
Some 21 thousand unique bas-reliefs datable to 30,000 years ago have been discovered in Khomein.
