Modern usage of al-Qādisiyyah

Academic studies of the Battle have revealed numerous topoi that make up a common schema of the Arab Muslim conquests (see Donner; Noth). These literary layers appear to have accumulated since the period immediately following the Battle, when story-tellers (quṣṣāṣ) embellished their narrative, often in an attempt to glorify past ancestors. The modern usage of the al-Qādisiyyah, thus, has heavy emotional baggage and invoking its name grants deep meaning.

The most notable use of Qādisiyyah’s emotive power was the dubbing by Ṣaddām Ḥusayn of his eight-year war against Iran as Qādisiyyat-Ṣaddām (Ṣaddām’s Qādisiyyah). The first instance of this naming occurred on 02 April 1980, a half-year before the outbreak of hostilities, on the occasion of a visit by Ṣaddām Ḥusayn to al-Mustansiriyyah University in Baghdād, where a bomb attack on the previous day had injured his vice-president, Tarīq ʿAzīz. Ṣaddām blamed the newly-founded Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) and, drawing the parallel to the 7th-Century battle, he announced:

In your name, brothers, and on behalf of the Iraqis and Arabs everywhere we tell those [Persian] cowards and dwarfs who try to avenge Al-Qadisiyah that the spirit of Al-Qadisiyah as well as the blood and honor of the people of Al-Qadisiyah who carried the message on their spearheads are greater than their attempts. * Al-Qādisiyyah was also a historical town, near the battle-site and an important location on a Mesopotamian trade-route.

I think this is true, in the political way they trust Iran, In my eyes too much, I like iranians as people but not there policy in this region, dont feel insultet but I think Irans policy is really selfish and doesnt care for the arabs as they say. Its always about power but they just do so like we arabs do, there is no way out of the periphery, sadly.

Most of Arabs that hate Iran they hate it because they hate shea'a that is why the separate there sickness after the Imam Khomeini get in the power. Wahabi hate shea'a whatever their nationality Iranians, Paki's, or even Arabs. There are some Arabs that they hate Iranian because false Arab national bride those minority among every nationality, let me but like this they found the Iranian standing up against USA and they cannot (would not), so they hate Iranian for that (why we get f****ked alone). In matter of fact most Parisian Gulf population (I am taking about the people that where living around the gulf not lizard eater) like Iranians.
On the other hand Anti Arab Iranians (like Iranian_Imperial_Guards) are minority among Iranian (I have several Iranian friends to say that confidentially).

I think it is always funny to see how long it takes to shatter "alliances and friendships" but it takes eternity to take it up.
Arabs although dont wanna admit most of them admire Ahmadinejad and iranians self-sufficiency and independence. OTH we have iranians who constantly put Palestina Syria, Lebanon as their 2nd country or something that they have to defend.
