what do you think iran would do for its air force if the sanctions were lifted. maybe go ahead with grumman and make the new and improved f-14. even now irans f-14 can take americas f/a-18 and f-15 with its incedible radar

F14D, i doubt Iran can make more advanced F14 than US, its like saying someone can make a better copy, it just doesnt happen

F14D, i doubt Iran can make more advanced F14 than US, its like saying someone can make a better copy, it just doesnt happen

yes i know but grumman offered different variants that could be developed like the auickstrike cheap version. see wikipedia for more information

did you know that in 2001 russian companies offered iran al31f engine and new version of SBI-16 Zaslon radar (FLASH DANCE) to upgrade its f14 and of course R33 missile. acording to american analysts flash dance radar is more capable than AN/ALR-67 !!!!!!!!

i dont know why iran didnt do that upgrade. it would have boosted the f-14 greatly

shafaq is the only plane iran needs right now, onces the project done they can build as many as they want and change w/e they want and sell to who ever they want because it's their own plane and it's as good as F 16

That would be ideal, however I think a combination of Mig 29 upgraded and jf 17- j10's would be good too. Get rid of the old stuff. Best choice if sanctions were lifted would be combination f16-f15 for now and later on f35-f22 if Iran could afford it .

MiG-29SMTs or 33s(Since Iran is familiar with MiG-29s, retraining wouldn't be neccessary as with the newest Sukhoi fighters.)

MiG-31s-because the speed is perfect!! Flying at 2.83 Mach makes it faster than yet the F-22 Turkeybird which flies at around Mach 2.0 with afterburners. Speed and Radar supercedes all that new 'impressive' gadgets.
